As florists we know first hand the importance of adding fresh blooms to your Thanksgiving table, we also know how busy the Holiday season can be so  we like  to to do as much as we possibly can ahead of time in preparation for the big day. Decorative autumn accents can be set out in advance  we have selected a monochromatic palette from the gift shop at Cedar Grove Gardens and put together a few fresh ideas to get you inspired and thinking early.   Be sure to add your fresh blooms a day before the holiday.  To get started choose your favorite autumn colors…

Sleek hurricanes filled with battery operated mystique LED candles. (These can be purchased from Cedar Grove Gardens) Below is the same table scape with the candles lit. The moving flames make them look undeniably realistic as they sit on top of a bed of chestnuts I gathered from outside or you can pick them up at most grocery stores or fruit centers this time of year.    

Here is a close up of the  brilliant fall mini frosted glass by roost, fill it with delicious apple cider for a fall treat that screams Thanksgiving.  I love the stems etched into the glass,  another great way to incorporate the outdoor elements on the table.  The extra large wicker serving utensils complete the look.        The natural   decorative acorns strewn about the table are from October Hill. Pictured on my Thanksgiving setting  in white,  if your tablescape is more autumnal we also carry  them in a rustic terra cotta color.  They are constructed of wood, pine cones and seed pods, a true natures bounty.

In case modern straight lines is not your thing, i’ve added a cloth runner down the center of the table and added square wicker chargers   to warm things up a bit I also changed my candles to these lovely Thanksgiving themed  pear shaped candles from Vance Kitira, we carry them in  a variety of fall colors and fragrances.

You can also use them to direct guests to their seats with these pear shaped place card holders…a great option for a place card would be to switch these Vance Kitira tags with paper name tags, punch a hole and tie in place with ribbon or twine.

A simple, festive and inexpensive way to embellish colored napkins, a sprig of wheat or fall leaves for a simple pleasure, you can always add a gourd or acorn so your guest have a little trinket to take home .
